These Bones are Made for Walkin’
Based on fossils of a similar age to those of Lucy, probably the most famous Australopithecus afarensis fossil ever, that A. afarensis most likely walked much like we do. The bone shows evidence that A. afrensis probably had a fully developed arched foot. An arched foot, combined with evidence from other skeletons supports the hypothesis that A. afarensis not only stood upright but also walked in an upright position.
